From Bugatti Rimac to Pantheon AI: Green Energy Fair Brings Key Players in the Energy Transition to Arena Zagreb

With more than 40 speakers and around 20 sponsors, led by general partner IBC SOLAR, Arena Zagreb will become a meeting point for Croatia’s and the region’s energy sector on 28 and 29 October.

Over two days, on 28 and 29 October, Arena Zagreb will be the regional hub for the energy transition. Organised by AleDo TECH, this year’s Green Energy Fair spans more than 5,000 square metres, featuring its largest exhibition space to date, alongside a conference bringing together leading figures from the energy sector, industry and diplomacy.

The event’s main exhibitor and general partner is IBC SOLAR, a German wholesaler with more than 40 years of experience. The company supplies installers and contractors across Croatia with equipment for solar power plants, battery systems and electric vehicle chargers.

The fair will also feature Energetik, the palladium sponsor and one of Europe’s leading B2B solar equipment distributors. In addition to modules, inverters and battery systems, the company offers technical support and training for industry professionals. Other exhibitors include Krannich Solar, V-TAC, PM Green and Toming, while Schneider Electric, Fronius, Crostorion, Kronoterm, Energycom, Zonne, JB Energija, OSD, Energycentar, Enphase, GCL, Aerocompact, MOON, Energy3000 Solar, Renusol, Conversio and SKE Solar will showcase their solutions to visitors.

Conference: Decisions Shaping the Next Decade

The first day’s central feature is the CEO Forum. Gordan Kolak, President of the Management Board of KONČAR; Zsuzsanna Ortutay, President of the Management Board of INA; Marijan Vuko, Member of the Management Board of CEMEX Croatia; and Marija Šćulac Domac, Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, will take part in a discussion moderated by Prof. Nela Vlahinić, PhD. The discussion will focus on whether the energy transition can become a business opportunity for Croatian industry rather than an additional cost.

An international dimension will be added through a panel featuring ambassadors from five countries with very different energy pathways. The programme will also highlight projects that are already helping shape the future. The 150 MW Promina solar power plant could meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 69,000 households. A new 400 kV substation is being built to connect the plant to the grid, marking the first new substation of this voltage level in Croatia since 2004. Representatives of ACCIONA, KONČAR and HOPS will discuss the challenges of connecting such a large project to the grid.

The second day will focus on topics attracting growing interest from both investors and the wider public. A case study on Pantheon AI will explore whether Croatia’s power grid can accommodate the growing electricity demand from data centres and who will pay for the necessary infrastructure.

Two panels will be dedicated to battery energy storage systems (BESS), covering everything from regulation and market developments to project implementation. The programme will also address the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), power quality and energy management systems.

The conference will conclude with Marko Brkljačić, Chief Operating Officer of Bugatti Rimac, and journalist Juraj Šebalj discussing who is taking the wheel of the global automotive industry.

Sponsors: Industry Driving the Energy Transition Forward

IBC SOLAR, a German solar equipment wholesaler with more than 40 years of experience, is the fair’s general and platinum partner. The company supplies installers across Croatia with photovoltaic modules, inverters, battery systems and comprehensive solutions. IBC SOLAR will also contribute to the conference programme: Patrik Danz, Sales Director, will participate in a panel on BESS projects, while Katja Volk, Head of International Sales, will join a panel discussing the role of distributors.
