The ceremonial opening of the largest regional conference on renewable energy sources, the “Renewable Energy Days,” will be held on May 20 at 5:00 PM in Opatija. This year’s gathering will bring together key stakeholders from the energy sector, industry, investment circles, institutions, and the academic community from Croatia and Europe.
The conference program will focus on the role of energy in defense and supply security, as well as its connection to tourism, agriculture, data centers, and industry. Special attention will be given to the development of transmission and distribution networks, battery storage systems, project financing, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), electromobility, and active consumers.
Organizers announce that the central theme will be how to ensure sufficient domestic energy for the economy and citizens under conditions of rising consumption, accelerated electrification, and Europe’s growing needs for energy security and competitiveness.
Speakers include State Secretaries Vedran Špehar and Tonči Glavinić, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Marko Primorac, President of the Management Board of HEP-ODS Anton Marušić, Director of OIEH Maja Pokrovac, President of the Management Board of Končar Gordan Kolak, as well as numerous domestic and international experts.
The conference is held with the support of several Croatian ministries, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the associations SolarPower Europe and WindEurope, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the City of Opatija, and its Tourist Board.
