The regional legal network Karanović & Partners and its partner law firms announced today that three long-standing team members have been promoted to Senior Partner. Among them is Petar Mitrović, one of the most respected energy lawyers in Southeast Europe, while promotions were also given to Franka Baica from Zagreb and Mina Anamaria Gvardjančič from Ljubljana.
Petar Mitrović joined the team in 2010 as a fresh graduate. Today, more than 15 years later, he leads the Energy and Natural Resources Industry Group. His expertise covers the development, financing, and acquisitions of energy projects, with a special focus on renewable energy sources. As Karanović & Partners state in the announcement, Mitrović has shaped not only client mandates but also the broader regulatory environment in the region through his work.
“This promotion is a great personal honor, but above all a recognition of the work of the entire team. We built our energy practice from scratch in 2018, and today we are proud to be leading some of the most complex transactions and projects in the energy sector across the region – from renewable energy projects and corporate PPA arrangements to regulatory framework development and strengthening the competencies of market participants. I am grateful to our clients for their trust, to my colleagues who have been part of this journey, and to partners such as Energetski portal for their support over the years”, Mitrović told the Energy Portal.
Franka Baica (Ilej & Partners in cooperation with Karanović & Partners) has been building her career in the Zagreb team since 2013, when she joined as a junior associate. Today, she is recognized as one of the key pillars of the team and a leading advisor on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, as well as real estate transactions in Croatia. Her practice also includes corporate law, with a special focus on company law and corporate governance.
Mina Anamaria Gvardjančič (Ketler & Partners, a member of Karanović & Partners) has been building her career in the Ljubljana team for nine years, where she has become one of its most recognizable figures. Heading the Dispute Resolution Department, she has played a key role in shaping and strengthening judicial practice in Slovenia. Her expertise covers complex commercial and civil disputes, domestic and international arbitration, as well as labor law, and her colleagues describe her as a born leader and an exceptional lawyer.
Karanović & Partners state that their journey to the highest level of partnership reflects the long-term commitment, professional growth, and shared values that define the culture of this regional legal network.
